![]() This was all in the days before they had Microsoft retail stores, so I don't know if you can get a discount at the retail stores or if you have to go through the employee store still. I think that Windows Server was a tad more, as was Visual Studio. You could get the full version of Office Pro or Windows for about $30-$35. I never bought an XBox or Zune from the employee store (the most expensive hardware that they had at the time) because I already owned them. ![]() I seem to recall being able to get mice and keyboards that retailed for $25-$30 for about $15. ![]() Hardware discounts were good, but probably not what I would consider Black Friday Doorbuster good. On software the discounts are much bigger than on hardware, simply because hardware is a physical good that has a per-unit cost to manufacture. MSFT employees get to buy from the employee store at substantial discounts.
